For two consecutive years I have worked alongside Time Team at Sutton Hoo, not using a trowel, but responding to the National Trust site using mixed media and textiles. The four weeks of this year's dig were such an exciting time. To be able to work in the Time Team dome, to explore the site and to meet archaeologists and enthusiasts was a great privilege. The enigmatic burial grounds, the freshly uncovered pre-Christian cemetery and the layers of history stretching in both directions on either side of these make Sutton Hoo a rich environment for creativity. The ideas are all there, lying in wait, ready to be unearthed and brought to light! Now that this year's exhibitions are nearly over there will be time to work, and I'll post some of the developments on Instagram

From October 2nd to 5th I shall be exhibiting some work on the TAGS stand at ArtConTex in Colchester. For more information about the ArtConTex initiative, visit ArtConTex.
